Why We Tell Santiago Differently
Our goal is not to create the biggest directory of Santiago de los Caballeros. We focus on the stories, places, people, and traditions that explain what makes Santiago distinctive — especially its tobacco heritage, cigar industry, craftsmanship, business culture, and authentic Dominican character.
What we focus on
Santiago is one of the most important cigar-producing regions in the world. Tobacco fields, fermentation warehouses, factories, master cigar makers, family businesses, lounges, and industry events form part of a living culture that extends far beyond tourism. This is the Santiago we want visitors to understand.
Our editorial approach
We select content because it helps explain Santiago, not simply because a business, attraction, or event exists. Priority is given to places and stories connected to the city's strongest characteristics: tobacco and cigars, local craftsmanship, Dominican food and drink, business culture, hospitality, and the people behind them.
Not a complete directory
We do not attempt to list every restaurant, hotel, shop, attraction, or event in Santiago. A smaller, carefully selected collection creates a clearer and more useful picture of the destination. Some excellent places may therefore not appear simply because they do not contribute directly to the story we are currently telling.
