ADOCITAB

ADOCITAB (Asociación Dominicana de Cigarros y Tabaco) is a nonprofit association founded in 2020 to support the development of the Dominican tobacco industry, with particular emphasis on micro, small, and medium-sized companies involved in cigars and tobacco.

The organization works to:

• Promote Dominican cigars and tobacco locally and internationally.

• Support micro, small, and medium-sized companies operating in the tobacco industry.

• Create opportunities for manufacturers, tobacco producers, distributors, entrepreneurs, and other industry participants.

• Strengthen cooperation, education, networking, and business development within the Dominican tobacco sector.

• Increase the visibility and competitiveness of Dominican cigar and tobacco businesses.

ADOCITAB is the organization behind Dominican Cigar Expo, an industry event held in Santiago de los Caballeros that brings together cigar manufacturers, tobacco producers, distributors, entrepreneurs, government institutions, media, consumers, and international visitors. The expo includes cigar exhibitions, tastings, educational activities, product presentations, and networking opportunities designed to promote Dominican tobacco and generate new business relationships.

Beyond events, ADOCITAB is involved in initiatives intended to strengthen the manufacturing infrastructure available to smaller tobacco companies. One important project is the development of an industrial park in Canca la Piedra, Tamboril, supported by Proindustria and the Dominican government. The initiative is intended to provide infrastructure for tobacco-related companies and support the continued development of the cigar manufacturing sector in one of the country's most important tobacco-producing regions.

ADOCITAB plays a particularly important role for smaller and emerging Dominican cigar manufacturers. Through representation, promotion, industry events, institutional cooperation, and development initiatives, the association helps these businesses gain visibility and participate more actively in the Dominican Republic's internationally recognized cigar industry.
