Albin Ortiz

Albin Ortiz is a Dominican entrepreneur, cigar industry representative, and hospitality professional with more than twenty-five years of business experience. Educated in hospitality management, culinary arts, and geoeconomics, he has built a diverse career that combines entrepreneurship, tobacco, cigars, music, and community-focused experiences.

His connection to cigars began in the 1990s while living in New York and later developed through his university years in the United States. After moving permanently to the Dominican Republic in 2006, he became increasingly involved in the local cigar culture and developed practical experience in tobacco cultivation, tobacco processing, cigar production, cigar lounges, and cigar-centered entertainment.

Ortiz has created and managed several social spaces for cigar enthusiasts, including El Conuco, La Fábrica, and El Macuto. These projects helped introduce a more relaxed and cultural approach to cigar enjoyment in Santiago, combining premium cigars with live music, friendship, and nightlife. Through El Macuto, he organized hundreds of cigar gatherings and more than 180 live concerts, supporting emerging local musicians and building a strong community around tobacco and the arts.

Today, Albin Ortiz continues to promote Dominican cigar culture through cigar production, industry collaboration, private gatherings, and cultural events. His work reflects a lifelong passion for cigars and a commitment to creating meaningful experiences that connect Dominican heritage, music, hospitality, and the tobacco tradition.
