Patricio Bonilla

Patricio Bonilla is a Dominican trombonist, composer, arranger and musical director from Mao, Valverde, with deep professional roots in Santiago de los Caballeros. Trained at the Instituto de Cultura y Arte (ICA) in Santiago, he has developed a distinctive musical identity around jazz, Latin rhythms, Caribbean influences and the expressive possibilities of the trombone.

His experience reaches far beyond the local jazz circuit. Bonilla has worked with Juan Luis Guerra & 4.40 and has accompanied internationally recognized artists including Rubén Blades, Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bosé, Enrique Iglesias, Juanes, Ricky Martin and Arturo Sandoval. His career includes international touring, studio recording, arranging and performances across a wide range of professional productions.

As a bandleader and recording artist, Patricio brings his own creative language to Latin jazz. His projects Volando Bajito and Mostaza explore Dominican, Afro-Caribbean and broader Latin American rhythms through jazz improvisation and original arrangements. His work can move from refined instrumental passages to energetic ensemble performances, giving producers considerable freedom when designing a live experience.
