Santiago de los Caballeros, in the heart of the Dominican Republic’s cigar region
La Aurora
More than a factory, La Aurora is the origin of the Dominican cigar tradition — a family legacy that helped shape Santiago itself. Founded in 1903, it remains the beating heart of craftsmanship and pride, where every cigar tells the story of generations devoted to perfection.

Arrive with curiosity, leave with stories. Our La Aurora Factory Tour is crafted to create the kind of memories you’ll talk about long after your trip—unhurried moments, warm smiles, and the quiet magic of seeing a masterpiece take shape by hand.
Expect a relaxed, guided experience through intimate spaces filled with the aroma of aged tobacco, the gentle rhythm of expert hands, and the welcoming hospitality that defines Santiago’s cigar culture. This is not a lecture—it’s a sensory journey designed for travelers who appreciate craft and connection.
Ideal for couples, friends, and small groups. We coordinate the details—entry, timing, and an attentive bilingual host—so you can simply enjoy the moment and capture unforgettable photos along the way.

Frequently asked questions
FAQs about La Aurora
Answers to common questions before your visit.
There are so many cigar tour companies out there. Why should I choose Boca2Boca?Toggle answer visibility
The real question isn’t who has the “best” tour on paper – many tours may look similar. What makes Boca2Boca different is the experience itself.
We keep our groups small (often 2–8 guests), so you don’t get lost in a crowd. You’ll be able to ask questions directly, engage with your guide, and enjoy an intimate, authentic connection with the factories and people behind the cigars.
Each itinerary is crafted to highlight the unique personality of every factory – no cookie-cutter routes, just authentic Dominican cigar culture.
Do you provide transportation?Toggle answer visibility
Yes, we can arrange hotel pick-up and drop-off for an additional fee. Transportation is recommended, especially in Santiago and Tamboril, as factories are not always easy to reach by public transport, but easy on taxi.
Where will I meet my guide?Toggle answer visibility
Meeting points vary depending on the factory. You’ll receive exact details in your confirmation email.
How long are the tours?Toggle answer visibility
Most factory tours last 1.5–2 hours
Are tours accessible?Toggle answer visibility
Factories are working production facilities and some areas may have stairs or uneven floors. We will always try to accommodate mobility needs – please let us know in advance so we can arrange the safest route.
What should I wear?Toggle answer visibility
Factories are working environments, so we recommend light, comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. While the Dominican Republic is a warm country, avoid “beach wear” such as flip-flops, tank tops, or overly casual outfits. You never know when the owner or master blender might step out for a photo with you, and looking neat makes for a much better memory. Think smart-casual: light shirts, polos, or dresses that keep you cool but also presentable.
Do I need to carry ID?Toggle answer visibility
Yes. We recommend carrying ID for security at the factory entrances and for any alcohol tastings (rum, whiskey, etc.).
Where do you operate tours?Toggle answer visibility
We offer tours in Santiago, Tamboril, and Santo Domingo – the heart of the Dominican cigar industry. Our partners include some of the country’s most iconic factories such as La Flor Dominicana, La Aurora, La Palma, and more.
